I love the 4th of July! At home in New Jersey, we gather together and hang out by the pool for the entire day, eat barbecue food, and finish off the day with fireworks. This red white and blue sangria is something I always make for these glorious summer gatherings. Serve this fantastic drink alongside your favorite barbecue food or with appetizers like my Feta & Caramelized Onion Tarts or Garlic & Herb Cream Cheese Stuffed Peppadews to get the party started.
What is Sangria?
Sangria is a drink found in Spain, it is traditionally made with red wine and fruit, sometimes other liquor is added. White sangria is made with white wine or sparkling wine such as cava or prosecco. Now popular all over Europe and the U.S it usually made with the wine or fruit of your choice. However, I suggest a crisp white wine such as a pinot grigio, sauvignon blanc, or even your favorite prosecco if you like your sangria with bubbles.
