Step By Step Instructions
In a medium saucepan, add the prepared strawberries, granulated sugar, butter, and fresh lemon juice.
Look for strawberries with a deep red color and bright green leafy tops. Make sure they are firm to the touch but not too hard. Avoid squishy or bruised strawberries. Always try and buy strawberries in season, it makes a huge difference to the flavor and quality.
Mix over medium-low heat until sugar dissolves. This will take about 5 minutes. Increase the heat and the bring mixture to a boil.
