While oats are gluten-free, you have to buy certified gluten-free oats if you are severely allergic to gluten as there often cross-contamination. Baking Powder – This is a key ingredient to making the inside of the waffles soft and airy. Coconut Sugar – I like to use coconut sugar instead of regular white sugar because it’s far less refined, so it’s a much healthier version. Oat Milk or any non-dairy milk you love like almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk. Vanilla Extract – For a delicate, sweet flavor. Flax Egg – This replaces an egg and it’s made from one tablespoon of flax meal that you stir with 2.5 to 3 tablespoons of lukewarm water.
